A Lucknow to Delhi IndiGo flight carrying approximately 180 passengers was delayed on Friday after a bomb threat triggered an emergency security response just before its scheduled departure. Although authorities later determined that the threat was a hoax, the aircraft remained grounded while mandatory safety procedures were carried out. The flight had been scheduled to take off from Lucknow at 10.45 am.
Shortly before departure, the aircraft's crew received information regarding a potential bomb threat on board. After the warning, the plane was stopped at the apron and not taken further to the runway. The security officials immediately started searching for any abnormalities, just to ensure the safety of all people who might have been onboard the plane.
The threat came when a piece of tissue paper containing the word "bomb" was found in one of the toilets of the plane. This led to the security organisations starting an extensive search of the whole plane.
It was later revealed by officials that there were no explosives found in the security search of the plane. In fact, a spokesperson for the organisations said that there had been nothing found that could be considered an illegal item.
