HP CM Sukhu calls upon Governor to discuss the road ahead

During the courtesy meeting, the Chief Minister presented the Governor with a traditional Himachali cap, shawl and a memento as a mark of respect.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu called on Governor Kavinder Gupta at Lok Bhavan on Monday. During the courtesy meeting, the Chief Minister presented the Governor with a traditional Himachali cap, shawl and a memento as a mark of respect. The two leaders also discussed various issues related to the development and welfare of the state.


Earlier, on Saturday, Chief Minister Sukhu formally inaugurated the State-Level Haroli Festival-2026 at Haroli in Una district. He said the festival marks the beginning of vibrant celebrations reflecting the spirit of Baisakhi and the rich cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh.


On the occasion, the Chief Minister offered prayers at the sacred flame of Chintpurni Temple, seeking blessings for peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people. He also joined a traditional procession showcasing the folk traditions and cultural diversity of the region, which saw enthusiastic public participation.


Addressing the inaugural cultural evening, the Chief Minister extended greetings to the people of Haroli and Una, stating that such festivals reflect deep-rooted cultural values, unity, and collective strength.


He added that preserving and promoting local traditions is essential to strengthening the cultural identity of the state and appreciated Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and the local administration for organising the event in a grand manner.


Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said the government is committed to inclusive development while ensuring the rich cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh continues to flourish, adding that events like the Haroli Festival promote social harmony and community participation.


During the first cultural evening, Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal entertained the audience with his popular songs, creating an electrifying atmosphere, while Abhigya Band also received strong appreciation for their performance.


Several MLAs, former ministers, and other dignitaries, including Rakesh Kalia, Vivek Sharma, Sudarshan Babloo, Kuldeep Dhiman, and Satpal Singh Raizada, were present on the occasion.
