HP to hold brainstorming session on 'SAMRIDH Himachal 2045'

The Dr. Manmohan Singh Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (MSHIPA) in Shimla has initiated a three-part Colloquium series aimed at fostering collaborative discussions to explore and develop innovative strategies that can drive the state towards achieving its long-term objectives while maintaining a balance between sustainable development and economic progress. 


This ambitious initiative is designed to bring together policymakers, experts, and stakeholders to deliberate on key areas crucial to the future of Himachal Pradesh.


An official spokesperson of MSHIPA disclosed today that a comprehensive three-day brainstorming exercise titled 'SAMRIDH Himachal 2045' will take place physically at the Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) from March 22 to March 24, 2025. 


This intensive session will involve representatives from seven carefully selected categories, who will engage in extensive discussions focusing on crucial sectors of development. These discussions will lay the foundation for the next phase of the Colloquium, referred to as Part III, which will further refine and solidify the strategies outlined during this exercise.


A significant component of the event will be the structured engagement between the government and citizens, as their collective inputs will play a vital role in shaping the modalities for conducting Part III of the Colloquium. 


This collaborative effort will culminate in the formulation and subsequent release of a Draft 20-Year Vision Document, which will outline a comprehensive roadmap for achieving the economic self-reliance of Himachal Pradesh. 


The vision document aims to serve as a guiding framework to steer the state towards a future marked by robust economic growth, sustainability, and self-sufficiency.

The event is poised to witness active participation from a distinguished set of attendees, including the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers, Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) representing various political affiliations, and political advisors. 


Their collective involvement will ensure that the discussions remain well-rounded and inclusive, incorporating diverse perspectives to formulate a well-informed and practical developmental agenda. Additionally, intellectuals and subject-matter experts from various fields will contribute their insights to enrich the discourse and aid in crafting a holistic policy framework.


Among the eminent personalities who have confirmed their participation in this landmark event are Salman Khurshid, renowned legal expert and political leader; Sameer Sisodia, CEO of Rainmatter Foundation; Rajni Bakshi, an esteemed author; Rajiv Banduni, Founder of Open AI; Padma Shri awardee Nek Ram Sharma; P.D. Rai, former Member of Parliament; Asha Swaroop, former Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh; Deepak Sanan, retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer; and Rajeev Malhotra, retired Indian Economic Service (IES) officer. Furthermore, a special online session featuring renowned technocrat and policymaker Sam Pitroda is also planned, adding significant value to the discussions with his extensive experience and expertise in governance and technology-driven development.


The 'SAMRIDH Himachal 2045' initiative is expected to serve as a pioneering platform that fosters a forward-looking approach to economic self-sufficiency, with a clear emphasis on sustainable growth and strategic policymaking. 


By leveraging the collective wisdom of policymakers, experts, and citizens, this initiative aims to chart a progressive and resilient path for Himachal Pradesh, ensuring prosperity and sustainability for future generations.
