The security forces in Jharkhand recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from a Maoists’ dump in Giridih district of Jharkhand on Friday. The recovery was done during a search operation jointly conducted by CRPF and Jharkhand police.
Giridih Superintendent of Police and CRPF Commandant Sunil Dutt Tripathi said in a press conference that based on the information received regarding the weapons hidden by the Naxalites, a search operation was conducted.
In the operation, a large quantity of weapons and ammunition, along with other items, were recovered from the dense forest of Gardi near Jokai Nala above Chatri Kanadih village in the Khukhra police station area of Parasnath hill.
The recovered arms include 303 Bolt Action Single Shot Rifle (Country Made) – 08 pieces, 12 Bore Double Barrel (Factory Made) – 1 piece, 315 Bore Single Shot Rifle (Country Made) – 04 pieces, 315 Bore Single Shot Rifle (Country Made) – 04 pieces, 7.62 SLR Rifle with Magazine – 01 piece and country made pistol –4 pieces.
Apart from this Wire Cutter (Big Size) – 02 Pieces, Magazine Pouch – 03 Pieces, Pistol Pouch – 01, Electric Detonator No.-33, Connecting with Wire – 08 pieces, 303 Round – 08 pieces, Charger Clip – 06 Numbers, Rifle Gauze – 01 Piece, Cordex Wire – 14 Bundles, Explosive – 02 Bags, 7.62 Round – 38 pieces, 9 MM – 10 pieces were also recovered.
The officials said that a large number of other items used by Maoists including Filler – 03 pieces, KF 8 MM – 09 pieces, Nitrobenzene – 2.5 Liter, Charger Clip – 06 and Rifle Gauge – 01 piece were found at the dump.
