The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an 'Orange' alert, advising residents to be prepared for hailstorms, thunderstorms, and gusty winds in several parts of Jharkhand over the next three days.

According to a weather official, the alert is in effect as the state's weather conditions are expected to change significantly starting Wednesday. The forecast indicates the likelihood of thunderstorms, accompanied by rainfall and strong winds, in the western, central, and southern regions of the state.

As per the Ranchi Meteorological Centre's weather bulletin, the southern and central parts of Jharkhand are expected to experience hailstorms along with thunderstorms and gusty winds on Thursday, with wind speeds reaching up to 60 kmph. These adverse weather conditions are predicted to persist in certain parts of the state until April 4.

The ongoing weather developments may also bring a drop in temperature. Currently, the maximum temperature across the state has been fluctuating between 34 degrees Celsius and 39 degrees Celsius.

However, due to the anticipated thunderstorms and precipitation, a decline in temperatures is likely.

On Tuesday, Bokaro recorded the highest temperature in the state at 39.5 degrees Celsius, followed closely by Jamshedpur and Daltonganj, where temperatures stood at 38.2 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Ranchi, the state capital, registered a maximum temperature of 34.4 degrees Celsius.
