Responding swiftly the Manipur Police have apprehended three individuals in connection to the alarming shooting incident near a polling station in Imphal East district.
The arrests come in the wake of a distressing event at Moirangkampu Sajeb, where gunfire resulted in the injury of a man on Friday.
The suspects, who fled the scene in a four-wheeler, were intercepted less than 5 kilometers away from the site of the incident on Friday evening.
Authorities, upon apprehension, seized a .32 pistol along with ammunition and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash from the perpetrators.
An ongoing investigation has been launched to delve into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
This development unfolded amid Manipur witnessing a notable voter turnout of over 68 percent across two Lok Sabha constituencies, Inner Manipur and Outer Manipur, on Friday.
