Eighteen people died in rain-related incidents across Uttar Pradesh in the 24 hours ending at 8 pm on 18 July, said the officials on Saturday. Among these deaths, eight (8) were due to drowning caused by excessive rain, while two were a result of snakebite.
The official statement informs that six deaths were reported in Chitrakoot district, while 3 each were killed in Mahoba, Banda, and Moradabad. One each died in Ghazipur, Lalitpur, and Gonda.

Two people each drowned in Chitrakoot on 17 and 18 July, three died due to drowning in Moradabad on 17 July, and one person died in Ghazipur on 18 July, the authorities said.
Three people died due to excessive rainfall in Banda. Two deaths were reported due to excessive rain in Mahoba, and as many died in Chitrakoot on 18 July. One person died due to excessive rainfall in Lalitpur on 18 July, the statement added.
