A Hawk trainer aircraft belonging to the Indian Air Force (IAF) met with an accident during a training sortie in West Bengal's Paschim Medinipur district on Tuesday.

 

According to a Defence official, the incident occurred near the Kalaikunda Air Force Station while the aircraft was returning from its training session.

 

Fortunately, both pilots onboard the aircraft managed to eject safely before the crash. The Defence official confirmed that there were no casualties or damage to civilian property resulting from the accident.

 

A court of inquiry has been initiated to investigate the cause of the crash, with authorities working to ascertain the factors leading to the incident.


The official said there was no loss of life or damage to civilian property in the accident.
