The esteemed Indian poet and philosopher Dr Jernail Anand has paid a remarkable tribute to Serbia, and in particular to one of its most respected literary figures, , whom he honours as the “brilliant daughter” of the Serbian nation. His monumental literary work, Epicasia—a collection of 12 epics now compiled in two volumes—was published in India this June. The magnum opus stands as a magnificent dedication not only to Serbia, but also to Dr. Sekulić.

Dr Anand, a true admirer of Serbia, is the recipient of numerous prestigious accolades, including the Seneca Award, the Franz Kafka Award and the Rabindranath Tagore Award. He has also been honoured with the Morava Charter and was recently named an honorary member of the Association of Writers of Serbia, coinciding with the centenary of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s historic visit to Belgrade—an event Dr Anand frequently references in his writings.

Dr Maja Herman Sekulić, in her reflection on Epicasia, describes it as, “A grandiose work that plays with myths from the Mahabharata to Homer, Dante, and Milton, and places Dr Anand firmly on the world literary stage as the greatest philosopher among poets, and the greatest poet among philosophers of our time.”

Together, Dr Jernail Singh Anand and Dr Maja Herman Sekulic are also the co-founders of the International Academy of Ethics, based in Chandigarh, India. The Academy’s forthcoming publications are set to include a special anthology of contemporary Serbian poetry, aptly titled "Serbian Muse"—a celebration of Serbia’s enduring poetic spirit and cultural legacy.
