According to police findings, Dhamnotia lured the woman to his rented accommodation on February 10 to resolve their differences. After they had physical relations, a fresh argument broke out over marriage, which escalated into violence and resulted in her death.

Days after allegedly strangling his 24-year-old girlfriend and committing acts of necrophilia, the accused, Piyush Dhamnotia, showed absolutely no remorse when questioned about the horrific crime.

Instead, a chilling smile appeared on his lips as he said, "Forget everything. What had to happen has happened. What will you do by knowing?"

When pressed further, he gave a few cold stares before stating he would tell everyone when the time was right, as he was taken away in a police jeep from a local station in Indore.

The crime came to light on February 13, when the victim’s decomposing body was discovered in a rented room in Indore’s Dwarkapuri area. The accused was arrested a day later.

Neighbours had alerted the authorities after noticing a foul odour, prompting the police to break down the door, where they found the woman with visible rope marks around her neck.

The couple, who knew each other from their student days, reportedly had frequent disagreements, largely stemming from the woman’s desire to marry.

According to police findings, Dhamnotia lured the woman to his rented accommodation on February 10 to resolve their differences. After they had physical relations, a fresh argument broke out over marriage, which escalated into violence and resulted in her death.

Authorities revealed that the accused felt immense insecurity whenever his girlfriend interacted with other men. During questioning, Dhamnotia admitted to tying the woman’s hands and feet and taping her mouth shut before strangling her with a rope.

Shockingly, the accused remained in the room for some time, consuming alcohol next to the body, before fleeing to Panvel. While on the run, he allegedly used the victim’s phone to send videos portraying her in a bad light.

Furthermore, police disclosed that Dhamnotia searched online for occult practices to summon the spirit of his dead girlfriend. “He searched online about how to talk to spirits and carried out tantric practices,” an officer said, suggesting the accused may be psychologically disturbed.

Police are currently examining digital evidence, call detail records, and forensic findings as part of the ongoing investigation.
