Ishita Pundeer, a social media influencer from Himachal Pradesh, whose remarks on soldiers’ loyalty sparked online backlash.

A social media influencer from Himachal Pradesh has drawn criticism after making controversial remarks about soldiers and their personal relationships. In her video, she spoke about loyalty and compared a soldier’s dedication to the nation with their relationships with partners.

Her comments upset many people, especially social media users who felt the remarks were unfair and based on broad generalisations. The video quickly went viral and triggered strong reactions online. Several users questioned her views.

The clip was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a user with a caption that read, “Meet Ishita Pundeer, a so-called Insta influencer from Solan, Himachal, claiming army men are not loyal to their wives or women. From the same land where Captain Vikram Batra and his love story inspire generations. FIR against her has been registered in Solan for this statement.”

The video starts with Ishita Pundeer sharing her opinion about soldiers and relationships. She stated that, “A soldier is extremely loyal to his nation, to his Motherland — so loyal that no human being could possibly be more loyal. Yet that same soldier can never be loyal to his girlfriend or his wife.”

She continues to say, “I have heard such cases many times and I believe girls will agree with me. I know I’m not speaking for everyone, but 90 per cent of these men always keep four or five girls as ‘backups’. That is the reality.”

Ishita further stated, “Any girl who has gone through this will relate to it. I’m not saying this happened to me personally, but this is what I have observed. I have enough experience with soldiers to believe they simply cannot remain loyal.”

Repeating her claim, she says, “They are incapable of being loyal to a woman. They can be patriotic and fiercely loyal to their Motherland, but never to a girl. That is the reality — disagree if you want.”

She also alleges that when soldiers return home on leave, they often maintain multiple relationships and can easily contact different women to meet them.

As the clip gained attention, reactions began pouring in online. One user wrote, “She got dumped and blamed the whole organisation.”
Another commented, “She just wanted some fame and engagement and she got it brutally. All she needs a camera and some Cringe bakwas content. Hope someday she finds some peace and brains."

“Cheap tactics to gain more views. A stigma on the Bravehearts of Himachal Pradesh,” another user wrote. “Some people cross all limits to become social media influencers and later have to apologise. It is not right to do this just for a few likes,” another comment read.
