Principal General Secretary of the Indian National Lok Dal and former leader of the opposition in the Assembly, Abhay Singh Chautala said that the incumbent Bhartiya Janata Party, six years ago, conspired to break the INLD by dividing my nephews Dushyant and Digvijay in different directions.
He said, “Digvijay and Dushyant were misled by the BJP, as they were small and innocent.”
He said, “They came under the influence of BJP. Dushyant was in a hurry to reach higher positions by making a career in politics. BJP used him. If there had been no split in our party then there would have been INLD government in Haryana.”
With the upcoming Haryana assembly polls in the state, many political party officials are in a hurry to get a ticket and have reached out to INLD.
“Many rebels of BJP and Congress are in contact with me,” said Abhay Singh Chautala.
Abhay said that many dissidents of BJP and Congress are in contact with him and are demanding tickets.
The party is in work for assessing the political image of all such dissidents, so that they can be considered for contesting the assembly elections on INLD ticket.
Ahead of the assembly elections Ajay Devi Lal also joined the INLD party.
Angered by not getting a BJP ticket from the Dabwali seat, Aditya Devi Lal joined INLD on Sunday. Aditya Devi Lal was in BJP for a long time, but the party cancelled his ticket.
Aditya is the cousin of INLD's Principal General Secretary Abhay Singh Chautala.
Abhay Chautala further added on the Dushyant and Digvijay divide,
“The split in INLD in 2018 caused huge losses. Then the trust of INLD chief Omprakash Chautala was broken. BJP did this by luring our family members. BJP instigated our children (Dushyant and Digvijay) for their political gains. They fell into their trap.”
