History of Rambagh Palace:
The Palace is the former residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur located 5 miles (8.0 km) outside the walls of the city of Jaipur on Bhawani Singh Road.
Originally a garden house built in 1835 for the wet nurse of the prince Ram Singh II, the site became a modest royal hunting lodge in 1887 under Maharaja Thakur Sawai Madho Singh, set within a dense forest.
In the early 20th century, Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob expanded it into a palace. Maharajah Sawai Man Singh II later made Rambagh his main residence, adding royal suites in 1931. Today, it operates as a five-star hotel managed by Taj Hotels.
