Punjab Police had busted an espionage module allegedly backed by Pakistan’s ISI and arrested its key operative from Ferozepur.

According to Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, the Counter Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police in Jalandhar also seized China-made solar-powered CCTV equipment with 4G connectivity from Kapurthala.

The accused has been identified as Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha, a resident of Ferozepur.

Preliminary probe revealed that the accused and his associates had installed solar-powered CCTV cameras at multiple locations to keep watch on sensitive areas, including Army-linked establishments. The live footage was allegedly shared with Pakistan-based handlers through mobile applications, Yadav said in a post on X.

An FIR has been registered at the State Special Operation Cell police station in Amritsar, he said. Further inquiry is in progress.
