The Ludhiana Commissionerate Police have dismantled an ISI-backed terror module planning a grenade attack with the arrest of 10 alleged operatives working at the behest of foreign-based handlers, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said on Thursday.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the accused were in touch with handlers in Pakistan through three intermediaries operating from Malaysia to coordinate the pickup and delivery of a hand grenade, the DGP said in a post on X.
Yadav said the handlers had assigned the module the task of executing a grenade attack in a crowded area with the intent to create unrest in Punjab.
