A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel was found dead under mysterious conditions, while a CRPF Jawan died after collapsing inside a camp, officials informed on Tuesday.
The first incident occurred in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district, where a BSF personnel’s body was recovered under mysterious circumstances. Constable Sukhdeep Singh, a resident of Ferozepur in Punjab, was found lying in a canal, Rehiyan village on Monday evening.
Shortly after, the locals rushed him to the district hospital in Samba, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Preliminary investigation suggests he was travelling on a motorcycle and may have accidentally fallen into the canal.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and have begun a formal investigation to find out the cause of death, officials added.
Meanwhile, 59-year-old Constable Ravinder Partap Singh, attached to A Company at the CRPF camp in the Nagrota area of Jammu, died after collapsing unexpectedly late Monday night.
His body was taken to the Government Medical College hospital for post-mortem and other legal medico-legal formalities, the officials said.
The health officials suggest that a sudden cardiac arrest was the cause of death. However, an investigation has been initiated to find out the underlying causes leading to his death.
