National Conference President Farooq Abdullah in response to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement in Parliament about killing three terrorists, said, “If they were really terrorists, it is a good thing they got this lesson, as terrorism can never succeed. Only those who saw them can confirm who they were.”
Veteran politician of J&K Abdullah said neutralisation of those behind the Pahalgam massacre is a clear reminder that militancy cannot achieve its objectives. He also expressed optimism about resolving challenges facing the region, stating, “God willing, problems will be solved. If there is unity among us, all issues can be resolved,”.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event in Srinagar, Farooq said, “I don’t know who they were, but if they have been killed, it is a welcome step. This should be a lesson to them and others that terrorism will never succeed.”Home Minister Amit Shah identified the slain militants as Suleman alias Faizal, a top Lashkar commander, Afghani, another senior LeT militant, and Jibran, all of whom were responsible for the Baisaran Valley killings on April 22, which claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists. The massacre had triggered Operation Sindoor on May 7, aimed at dismantling terror infrastructure across the border.
BJP Jammu and Kashmir spokesman and senior party leader Altaf Thakur said that the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam has been avenged, with the elimination of the three Pakistani terrorists responsible for the heinous crime. He commended the Indian Army and J&K Police for what he termed a “precise and justice-delivering operation.”
“On April 22, Pahalgam turned red with the blood of innocents—victims of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. Today, that blood has not gone in vain. The killers have been brought to justice. The BJP salutes our brave Army, J&K Police, and Special Forces for their commendable and courageous action,” Thakur said in a statement.
“This is more than just an encounter—it is a powerful message carved in iron. Anyone who dares to bleed Kashmir will be tracked, cornered, and eliminated. Our forces have shown yet again that there is no safe haven for terrorists on Indian soil,” Thakur added.
The BJP leader came down heavily on Pakistan, accusing it of continuing to export terror into Jammu and Kashmir.
“Their pain of pahalgam atatck victims is unforgettable, but today’s operation offers a strong sense of closure. The people of Kashmir must know that justice is not delayed, and it will never be denied,” he said. “Let this be the final word—Pahalgam will never bow, Kashmir will never bleed silently, and the killers of our people will face the full force of the Indian state," BJP leader concluded.
