An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) succumbed to injuries he had sustained during an accident at Gangyal on the outskirts of Jammu on Sunday, officials said.

 

Officials said that the ASI, identified as Karamjeet Singh and posted at Police Station Gangyal, was admitted to Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH) Jammu in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle.

 

“He died in the hospital where he was receiving medical treatment,” officials said.

 

Besides Singh, another person identified as Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, also sustained injuries in the accident, they said. Meanwhile, a case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
