Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday carried out extensive raids at multiple locations in north Kashmir's Baramulla district in connection with a case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
According to officials, the raids were conducted as part of an ongoing investigation into a case registered under Section 13 and Section 351(3) of the UAPA at Baramulla Police Station.
According to available information, police teams carried out searches at the residences of Tanveer Ahmad Mir, alias Kaka Mir, a resident of Tawheed Gunj currently residing at Gulnar Park, Azad Gunj; Faraz Ashraf Gojri, a resident of Iqbal Colony; Waseem Ali Kar, a resident of Kanli Bagh; and Waseem Hussain Mir, a resident of Khawajabagh Jetty, Baramulla.
Police seized several electronic devices during the searches and took them into custody for further investigation.
The seized items include one laptop and four mobile phones, officials said. The searches were carried out strictly as per guidelines and SOPs, in the presence of magistrates and independent witnesses, as part of the ongoing investigation into the case.
Police said they remain committed to safeguarding the interests and safety of the general public from anti-national elements and individuals involved in various organised and unorganised crimes across the district.
