Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather has warned members against publicising House business notices before the Budget Session. He said this goes against parliamentary rules and should be avoided.
Rather emphasised that notices related to questions, bills, resolutions, and other House matters should not be made public before they are officially discussed.
The Budget Session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly is set to begin on March 3.
Recently, some legislators have publicised notices related to the upcoming session. The Speaker strongly disapproved of this, stating that it violates parliamentary practices and established rules.
A spokesperson for the Legislative Assembly released a statement saying that, as per parliamentary traditions and house rules, it is improper to give unnecessary publicity to such notices.
Rather expressed his disappointment and warned that this practice is considered a breach of privilege under the rules. He instructed all members to stop publicising such notices in the future.
