Jharkhand authorities have significantly tightened security measures across the state in preparation for Eid, Sarhul, and Ram Navami.
Officials have deployed CCTV cameras, drones, and personnel with video cameras at key locations to monitor public gatherings and maintain law and order. Eid-al-Fitr is expected to be celebrated on Monday, followed by the tribal festival Sarhul on April 1, and Ram Navami on April 6.
To ensure preparedness, mock drills were conducted across several districts on Saturday, testing the police force’s ability to respond to potential disturbances.
On March 26, Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Gupta reviewed the security arrangements and instructed district Superintendents of Police (SPs) to strictly follow a 25-point action plan developed by the Special Branch.
Special security measures have been put in place in sensitive districts such as Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Hazaribag, and Giridih, where large processions and public gatherings are expected.
Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri assured that adequate police forces, CCTV surveillance, and drone monitoring would prevent any potential disruptions by anti-social elements. He emphasized that traffic movement would be regulated, with route diversions planned to avoid congestion.
Additionally, medical teams and ambulances will be strategically deployed along the routes of Sarhul and Ram Navami processions.
The Health Department has been directed to station emergency response teams at key locations to handle any medical emergencies. Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with security personnel and celebrate the festivals peacefully.
