Jharkhand: A dozen youths gang-rape 3 minor tribal girls

The accused gang-raped the three minors one by one. They threatened the victims not to tell anyone about the incident.

In a ghastly incident, three minor tribal girls were gang-raped in Rania area of Khunti district in Jharkhand. Police sources said the act was carried out by minor youths in Ulihatu village under Rania police station area late night on February 21.

 

Sources said the girls were returning home after attending a wedding near Karo River on the way from Ulihatu village of Rania police station area to Nichitpur, when they were surrounded by the boys.

 

The accused gang-raped the three minors one by one. They threatened the victims not to tell anyone about the incident. Somehow the girls reached their home and informed their families on Saturday.

 

After this, the family and villagers informed Rania police station about the incident. Police have registered an FIR based on the statements of the three victims.

Khunti Assistant Superintendent of Police, Christopher Kerketta, said, “Three minor tribal girls have been gang-raped. Looking at the seriousness of the case, the investigation has been intensified. So far, more than a dozen boys have been taken into custody and are being questioned in the case. The case will be solved soon.”
