In a move that surprised everyone in Jharkhand today Congress legislator Amba Prasad released her first video album just before her appearance at the Enforcement Directorate’s Zonal Office in Ranchi for questioning in a case related to money laundering through extortion, collection of levy, illegal sand mining and land grabbing.
Known for her sensational statements, Amba Prasad launched her music video based on the nature festival Sarhul minutes ahead of reaching the ED office for interrogation. The leader had earlier raised eyebrows claiming that the BJP had offered her a Lok Sabha seat.
Prasad is seen singing a nagpuri song based on Sarhul and dancing in the video.
On being asked whether she was afraid of her arrest she launched the video just ahead of ED’s questioning Amba said that there is no fear of arrest but she was unsure what will happen in future.
“I have no idea why I have been called by ED. There is no fear but I don’t know what will happen in the future. This video was shot and edited in just a day. Since the Sarful festival has come we thought we should do something to celebrate the festival this year,” said Amba to media persons.
At the time of filing of this report, ED was questioning Amba Prasad, her brother Ankit Raj and Sub Inspector Mira Singh in cases related to money laundering.
Notably, ED had conducted search operations on March 12 at 20 locations in Ranchi and Hazaribagh, Jharkhand related to Amba Prasad, her father former Minister Yogendra Sao and their other family members and associates in connection with a case related to criminal activities such as extortion, collection of levy, illegal sand mining, land grabbing etc.
The ED said that Yogendra Sao, Amba Prasad and their associates are involved in various kinds of criminal activities such as extortion, collection of levies, illegal sand mining, land grabbing etc., as a result of which they have acquired proceeds of crime.
The agency had recovered an unexplained cash amount of approx. Rs 35 lakhs, digital devices, fake stamps of Circle Offices, Banks, etc. and various incriminating documents in the form of handwritten receipts/diaries, etc.
It said that evidence related to illegal sand mining in the state of Jharkhand was also seized during the search.
The proceeds of crime generated from such criminal activities have been identified to be acquired in cash and subsequently utilised for further business activities and the purchase of several immovable properties.
