Jharkhand Police have formally come under the leadership of senior woman IPS officer Tadasa Mishra, with the state government appointing her as the regular Director General-cum-Inspector General of Police (DGP).
A notification issued by the Home, Prison and Disaster Management Department confirmed the appointment of the 1994-batch IPS officer to the top post.
Mishra, who had been serving as the officiating DGP, was entrusted with the responsibility on a full-time basis following the Governor’s approval. Her appointment was made under the DGP Selection and Appointment Rules, 2025, which were amended on December 29, 2025.
The official notification states that Mishra has been posted as the full-time DGP of the state. Until now, she was discharging her duties as the acting police chief.
Known as a disciplined, firm and sensitive officer, Tadasha Mishra has focused on strengthening law and order in Jharkhand during her tenure as officiating DGP.
She took several key initiatives to enhance surveillance in Naxal-affected areas and improve coordination within the police administration.
The decision, taken in the final days of the year, is being seen as a move towards ensuring stability and continuity in the Jharkhand Police.
The government and the police establishment expect that under her leadership, policing in the state will gain renewed direction and administrative efficiency will improve in the coming year.
