In a bid to overhaul the tourism scenario in the State, the Jharkhand government has started preparing to build a Tribal Tourism Corridor in the State connecting all important tourist places related to tribal icons and other major attractions.
Jharkhand Tourism Minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu along with a team of officials held a meeting with popular tourism platform Make My Trip representatives in Delhi on the plan.
During the meeting possibilities of Mines Tourism, providing all kinds of facilities to the tourists and introducing the country and the world to the tribal culture of Jharkhand were discussed.
The Tourism Minister said that the state government has been trying to promote tribal tourism for a long time. “It has been decided to build corridors at many places, where tourists from the country and abroad will be given information about the tribal culture, lifestyle, food habits of Jharkhand,” he said.

“First of all, the old houses of Birsa in Ulihatu, the birthplace of Lord Birsa Munda, as a tourist destination will be developed. Apart from this, tribal food, tribal culture, tribal attire will also be promoted under tribal tourism,” he added.

Sonu said that mines tourism is also being developed in Jharkhand. Under this, many coal mines of CCL, BCCL are also included in the state. The government's objective behind developing mine tourism is to make people aware of the work being done in mining.
In the meeting, it was decided to promote important tourist circuits of Jharkhand through Make My Trip by listing JTDC hotels on the website and app for online booking in collaboration with Make My Trip.
A special tourism package plan will also be prepared for this. The minister, while highlighting the possibilities of tourism in Jharkhand, said that there is a unique confluence of natural beauty, cultural heritage, religious places, wildlife, waterfalls and tribal culture here, which has to be promoted at the global and national level.
