The new stations are expected to improve surveillance, ensure quicker registration of complaints and enhance coordination between the police and local communities.

In a major push to strengthen law enforcement and improve policing infrastructure, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday handed over 1,485 modern vehicles to the Jharkhand Police and laid the foundation stones for 12 new police stations across the state.

The Chief Minister remotely inaugurated the new police stations and flagged off the fleet of vehicles, describing the initiative as a significant step towards strengthening law and order and enhancing the operational capacity of the police force.

Speaking on the occasion, Soren said maintaining peace and security from cities to remote rural areas is a challenging responsibility for the police, and strengthening their infrastructure is essential to ensure effective policing.

He noted that the addition of modern vehicles will significantly improve the mobility and response capability of the police, enabling them to reach incident sites more quickly and carry out patrolling more efficiently.

Under the first phase of the initiative, the state government has allocated 636 patrolling vehicles and 849 two-wheelers to various districts and police stations. Overall, the government has approved 1,255 patrolling vehicles and 1,697 motorcycles for the police force.

These vehicles will be used for routine patrolling, quick response operations, monitoring sensitive areas and controlling criminal activities, particularly in remote and rural regions where mobility has often been a challenge.

The Chief Minister said the establishment of 12 new police stations will further strengthen the law enforcement network by bringing policing services closer to the public.

The new stations are expected to improve surveillance, ensure quicker registration of complaints and enhance coordination between the police and local communities.

Soren expressed confidence that the combined impact of improved mobility and expanded police infrastructure will significantly strengthen crime prevention and response mechanisms.

He also urged citizens to cooperate with the police and share timely information to help maintain peace and law and order across the state.
