Jharkhand Mukti Morcha today announced its second list of candidates for two Lok Sabha seats. Former minister Joba Manjhi has been fielded from Singhbhum constituency, who would face Geeta Koda, wife of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda. Geeta Koda has recently joined the BJP from Congress.
The JMM has once again made Rajmahal MP Vijay Hansda its candidate from the seat. Vijay Hansda's father Thomas Hansda has also been MP from this seat several times. BJP has fielded former state party president Tala Marandi from Rajmahal.
Both Rajmahal and Singhbhum seats are reserved for Scheduled caste candidates.
The JMM in its first list has fielded legislator Mathura Mahto from Giridih constituency and senior leader Nalin Soren from Dumka seat. Mahto will contest against AJSU Party’s Chandraprakash Chaudhary, who is the sitting MP from Giridih.
On the other hand, Nalin Soren will contest against JMM chief Shibu Soren’s daughter-in-law Sita Soren, who has recently switched sides to the BJP.
The INDI Alliance has to date announced candidates for only seven seats out of the 14 seats in Jharkhand.
As per the seat-sharing agreement Congress is set to contest on seven seats, JMM on five, and RJD and CPI (ML) will contest on one seat each.
