If you are looking to enhance your skills in language, a major university has just opened applications for its one-year evening diploma and advanced diploma programmes for the 2026 session. The programme is being run by the School of Languages and Linguistics and is suitable for working professionals or students who can attend classes between 5 to 8 pm.
The programmes are set to kick off in March 2026 and will wrap up with final exams in January 2027. To apply, you need a minimum qualification of Higher Secondary (or equivalent). Keep in mind that this round is not for certificate courses; you must already hold a certificate in your chosen language to apply for the diploma, or a diploma to apply for the advanced diploma.
The application portal is live now but closes quickly, running only from February 5 to February 11. If you are accepted, the merit list and admission dates will be posted on the university website on February 15.
The selection of languages is quite broad. Diploma courses are available in Bengali, Hindi, Sanskrit, French, German, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese. If you are looking for advanced study, advanced diplomas are offered in Bengali, French, Spanish, and Japanese. The admission fee is set at ₹7,285 for diplomas and ₹8,072 for advanced diplomas, and the university has noted that there are no provisions for fee waivers.
