Justice Guhanathan Narendar was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court on Thursday. The oath was administered by Governor Lt Gen (retd) Gurmit Singh at a ceremony held at the Raj Bhawan.
President Droupadi Murmu appointed Justice Narendar as Chief Justice on December 23, succeeding Justice Ritu Bahri.
Born on January 10, 1964, Justice Narendar became an advocate on August 23, 1989, after enrolling with the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu.
He has worked on several important constitutional cases and has expertise in civil, taxation, mining laws, environment and forests, and arbitration matters. Before becoming Chief Justice, he served as a judge at the Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka High Courts.
