The 'Men in Pink' Walkathon, organised by Apollo Cancer Centres and Apollo Proton Cancer Centre, took place at Elliot’s Beach, Besant Nagar, to raise awareness about breast cancer.
DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi launched the event, stressing the importance of early detection and men’s role in supporting women’s health.
She highlighted how men should encourage the women in their families to prioritise their health.
The event saw a large turnout, including men, women, and students. Participants pledged to support breast health awareness and promote regular health checks.
Kanimozhi praised the strong male participation, noting its significance in supporting women’s well-being.
One female participant expressed her hope that men would take responsibility for the health of their female relatives, encouraging regular screenings and mammograms for early detection.
She stressed that maintaining women’s health is vital for the stability of families.
