A unique pilgrimage caught the attention of many as Rupendra Tomar, a pathologist by profession, carried an eight-and-a-half kg statue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his shoulders from Baghpat in western Uttar Pradesh to Haridwar.
As a devoted follower of Lord Shiva, Tomar undertook this remarkable journey to pay tribute to both his faith and the Prime Minister.
During the pilgrimage, Tomar ceremoniously bathed the statue in the Ganga at Har ki Pauri, marking a significant moment in his journey.
He expressed his deep admiration for Modi, stating, "When Modi became prime minister for the third time, we resolved to take his statue to Haridwar and bathe it in the Ganga."
In addition to the holy ritual, Tomar hopes to present the statue and Ganga water to the Prime Minister, stressing on PM Modi's dedication to Lord Shiva and the Ram Temple's inauguration in Ayodhya, which he believes has brought happiness to the nation.
The statue took two to three months to create, and Tomar has spent around Rs 70,000 to Rs 80,000 on his pilgrimage.
After completing his ritual, he began his return journey to Baghpat, statue in tow.
