The Karnataka High Court adjourned the hearing of actor Darshan’s bail application until October 28.
The bail hearing was held on a single-judge bench headed by Justice Vishwajit Shetty on Tuesday.
The actor’s lawyer argued in court that Darshan was suffering from severe back pain and had to undergo surgery.
BV Nagesh, the lawyer who argued for Darshan, appealed before the high court that bail be granted to the actor on medical grounds since he was already undergoing treatment.
Nagesh requested the court that the bail be given as soon as possible as actor Darshan requires urgent surgery. However, the judge directed the lawyer to submit the medical reports and scheduled the next hearing for October 28.
Darshan had recently moved to the Karnataka High Court to secure bail after the trial court denied the same. He has been named in the chargesheet in the Renukaswamy case where a 33-year-old resident of Chitradurga was murdered. The victim’s remains were discovered in Bengaluru’s Kamakshipalya on June 9.
