The meteorological office in Srinagar has forecasted a light snowfall over the higher reaches and rainfall in the plains across the Kashmir Valley from December 13, offering the first relief after weeks of severe rainfall deficit.
Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a rainfall deficit due to ongoing dry and cold weather conditions, officials said.
While the weather condition is expected to change from Saturday, cold wave conditions have slightly increased in the valley over the past 24 hours.
According to the MeT office in Srinagar, “The summer capital recorded minus 3.6°C, while Srinagar International Airport recorded a minimum temperature of minus 4.0°C on the previous night.”
