Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha on Monday stressed on the issue related to Telugu actor Allu Arjun.
She slammed the Congress-led Telangana government, accusing it of diverting people’s attention by filing cases against film stars.
Her remarks came against the backdrop of reports claiming Congress’s involvement in the recent attack on the Hyderabad residence of ‘Pushpa 2’ actor Allu Arjun.
Hitting out at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy-led state government for not fulfilling its poll guarantees, Kavitha said that the grand old party is trying to divert people’s attention, and BRS has exposed them.
“The Congress party knows how to shift focus from real issues. It raises frivolous issues like filing cases against film stars and others. Congress has miserably failed in fulfilling its six guarantees. We are exposing them. So it is trying to hide their failures. People have now understood this very clearly and have started to question this government,” the BRS MLC told the media.
Earlier today, a BRS leader claimed that the main accused, who led the attack on Sunday evening, was connected to the Telangana Chief Minister.
On Sunday evening, a group of protesters, claiming to be students from Osmania University, stormed Allu Arjun’s Hyderabad home.
The protesters, who demanded ₹1 crore in compensation for the family of a woman who died in a stampede at the iconic Sandhya Theatre during a premiere of Arjun’s film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, threw tomatoes and damaged property, including flowerpots in the compound.
The actor was not present at his residence when the incident took place.
Police arrested six people in connection with the incident.
However, a Hyderabad court granted them bail on Monday.
Soon after the attack, Allu Arjun in a post on X urged his fans to express their feelings responsibly, and not resort to abusive language.
“I appeal to all my fans to express their feelings responsibly, as always, and not resort to any kind of abusive language or behaviour both online and offline,” the actor tweeted.
