Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan has been summoned by the Kakkanad Magistrate Court in connection with an assault case registered against him.

The actor has been asked to appear before the Kakkanad Magistrate Court on October 27 . The legal action follows a complaint filed against him by his former manager, Vipin Kumar.

According to the complaint, the actor allegedly physically assaulted and verbally abused Kumar.

The altercation was reportedly provoked after the former manager praised a film by actor Tovino Thomas in a social media post. Kumar also claims that Mukundan was under stress after his film ‘Marco’ failed to secure him significant new projects and had been venting his frustration on those around him.

The Infopark Police have registered a case against Mukundan under bailable provisions, including charges of assault and the use of abusive language. Earlier this year, the actor had filed an anticipatory bail application, which the Ernakulam District Court disposed of, clarifying that the police were permitted to proceed with their investigation. With the court now issuing a formal summons, Mukundan is required to make a personal appearance next month.

The legal developments come at a time of both professional success and high-profile news for the actor. He has recently gained recognition for roles in films like ‘Meppadiyan’ and ‘Malikappuram’. Just five days ago, it was announced that Mukundan will portray Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the upcoming biopic ‘Maa Vande’. The actor has not yet made any public statement regarding the court order or the allegations raised by his former manager.
