Pune Police on Sunday took Siya Goyal, the prime accused in the alleged murder of her fiancé, realtor Ketan Agarwal, to Lohagad Fort in Maharashtra's Pune district to recreate the crime scene as part of the investigation.
The reconstruction exercise was carried out at the spot where the 26-year-old Agarwal allegedly died after being pushed off the fort on June 18. Police used a dummy during the exercise and asked Goyal to demonstrate how the incident unfolded, a senior Pune Rural Police official said. As part of the exercise, the dummy was pushed down off the walls of the fort.
Investigators also asked the 20-year-old accused to retrace the route taken to reach the crime spot and explain the sequence of events leading up to the alleged murder.
Police said co-accused Chetan Chaudhary, 22, who has also been arrested in the case, will be taken separately to Lohagad Fort for a similar reconstruction.

According to investigators, Goyal and Chaudhary allegedly conspired to kill Agarwal by pushing him off the fort. During questioning, Goyal allegedly told police that she did not want to marry Agarwal but feared that calling off the wedding would bring disrepute to her family. Police suspect the alleged murder was planned with Chaudhary, who is believed to have been in a relationship with her.
The findings of the investigation suggest that Goyal and Chaudhary rehearsed in the same manner before committing the alleged murder. The investigation is now focused on establishing the exact sequence of events before, during and after the incident. Officers are examining the planning of the alleged crime, the movements of the accused, their digital footprint and other evidence to corroborate their statements.
Police have not disclosed further details, saying the investigation is ongoing. The reconstruction exercise is expected to help investigators verify the accused's account and strengthen the chain of evidence in the case.
