Kewal Singh Pathania, Deputy Chief Whip of the Congress Legislature Party in Himachal Pradesh and Senior Vice President of Power Lifting India, met Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in New Delhi.
He informed the Chief Minister that he has been chosen as the Manager of the Indian Powerlifting Team for the upcoming World Classic & Equipped Bench Press Championship.
The event, which will feature participation from 82 countries, is scheduled to take place in Drammen, Norway from 17th to 24th May 2025. Pathania informed the Chief Minister that the Indian contingent will consist of 80 powerlifters.
He also mentioned his past international visits with the team to countries including the United States, Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom, Dubai, and Hong Kong. During his visit to Norway, he plans to promote Himachali handicrafts and organic farming to an international audience.
Chief Minister Sukhu congratulated Pathania on the prestigious nomination, calling it a moment of pride not only for him but for the entire state.
