As many as 14 people, including six security personnel, were injured on the second day of anti-Israel and anti-US protests in the Kashmir Valley, following the killing of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a joint US–Israeli attack, officials said on Monday.

Due to security concerns, authorities in Kashmir have decided to cancel all movement of security forces’ convoys on Tuesday as protests began turning violent in some places. The move was ordered to avoid further tensions or clashes that might erupt between protesters and riot-control forces.

According to officials, more than 75 anti-US and anti-Israel rallies were held across the Kashmir Valley in support of and solidarity with Iran, while a few demonstrations were also held in the Jammu region as well. Sensing the anger and the potential for violence, the police had to resort to mild force to disperse protesters.

Meanwhile, restrictions continue to remain in place for the third day in the Valley, with the movement of vehicles, except for essential and emergency services, barred from inter-district travel.

Internet services also remained suspended throughout Kashmir, with some users also reporting disruptions in calling facilities. The internet speed was further reduced on Tuesday in the wake of possible protests or violent clashes.

At least 550 people have reportedly been killed in Iran since the beginning of the war on Saturday. Unconfirmed reports also claimed 37 deaths in Israel, three in the UAE, one in Bahrain and six US forces personnel in Kuwait.
