Bharat Rashtra Samithi Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) has officially drawn a line in the sand, firing off legal notices to Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind. The move comes after the two BJP leaders made a series of explosive, and according to KTR, entirely baseless allegations against his family.
KTR has demanded an unconditional apology from both within five days, warning that if they don't retract their statements, he’s taking them to court. He slammed the remarks as "cheap politics" and "malicious". He also argued that dragging his family into such controversies without a shred of evidence is nothing more than political vendetta.
The notice to Bandi Sanjay stems from a press conference on January 23, where the Union Minister allegedly claimed that KTR’s family had made thousands of crores through a massive phone-tapping scandal involving celebrities. KTR’s legal team pointed out that these claims are not only false but particularly bold given that Sanjay is already facing a pending defamation case in the City Civil Court for similar antics.
Dharmapuri Arvind, meanwhile, was put on notice for a different set of claims. His allegations linking the former IT Minister to drug abuse and supply were labelled "objectionable" and "reckless" by the lawyers. They argued that KTR, who spent years building up Telangana’s reputation as a global tech hub, is being unfairly targeted to settle political scores.
For now, the ball is in the court of the two Bharatiya Janata Party leaders. If the apologies don't come through by next week, this political spat is headed for a full-blown legal battle.
