BRS working president KT Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, accusing it of looting the poor while protecting the wealthy. He claimed the ruling party had corrupted Telangana in just two years and betrayed the public with false promises and failed governance.
Addressing a gathering of several AIMIM leaders who were inducted into the Bharat Rashtra Samithi at Telangana Bhavan on Friday, Rama Rao said the Congress came to power by making grand promises — ranging from distributing one tola (measure) of gold, scooters for women, and ₹4,000 pensions for the elderly, to ₹2,500 monthly aid for women — but had failed to deliver on a single one. "They did not give gold or rice. They are looting the poor and protecting the rich," he asserted.
He urged Jubilee Hills voters to act wisely and punish the Congress by electing BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha with a huge majority. He asserted that BRS victory would send a clear message that people cannot be deceived by money or empty promises.
The BRS working president ridiculed the Congress campaign tactics, stating that the ruling party was attempting to buy votes. He suggested that voters should take the money but also demand the remaining balance of the promises made to them by the Congress during the 2023 elections.
"Time has come to confront and question the Congress government. People need not fear the intimidation tactics of the Congress. The BRS will stand with the people in their fight," he declared.
Terming the by-election a contest between "the Car and the Bulldozer," Rama Rao claimed the bulldozer symbolised the Congress government, which he said demolished the homes of the poor but spared those belonging to the rich despite building norm violations. He asked people to vote for the Car symbol to bring a real solution to the state’s growing discontent.
