Union Minister of State for Home, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, has publicly denounced Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's use of offensive language and demanded an immediate, unconditional apology from the CM.
Kumar stated that the Chief Minister's comments were disrespectful and claimed that "Operation Sindoor" is being celebrated globally as a clear demonstration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolute action against terrorism. He insisted that the Chief Minister “must unconditionally apologise to the people of India— and to the courageous soldiers who risked their lives for our nation.”
The Bharatiya Janata Party leader took to ‘X’ on Friday night to condemn the comments made by the Chief Minister while addressing a rally as part of the campaigning for the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election. “Strongly condemn Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s below-the-belt remark on India. He stooped so low, using derogatory language to say that Pakistan kicked us, and India didn’t retaliate. It’s an insult to the armed forces who courageously destroyed terror camps in Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. In India, every street echoes with pride for our soldiers’ courage,” wrote Bandi Sanjay.
This controversy follows Reddy's remarks during a campaign address for Congress candidate Naveen Yadav. The Chief Minister had taken aim at BJP leaders who had spoken of 'carpet bombing' the Jubilee Hills constituency, sarcastically questioning why they had not applied such aggressive measures in the conflict against Pakistan. He also challenged Central ministers Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar to justify what central funds they had secured for Telangana.
"They are claiming to carpet bomb Jubilee Hills. The Bharatiya Janata Party MPs are merely wandering around Jubilee Hills without ever having secured funds from Prime Minister Modi," the CM commented.
The Chief Minister was joined at the event by Congress leader and former Indian cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin, who had been sworn in as a state minister that morning. Reddy also questioned the BJP's decision to object to Azharuddin's inclusion in his cabinet, asking, “Why is the BJP so vexed after Azharuddin is given a ministerial post?” He concluded by promising to personally oversee the development of Jubilee Hills, working alongside Azharuddin and Naveen Yadav, once the by-election is over.
