Normalcy has returned to Ladakh with the restoration of internet services, educational institutions, public transport, and other civic activities, officials said.
While chairing a high-level security meeting, Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta said he was satisfied with the prevailing calm and order across the Union Territory (UT). He praised the efforts of the civil and police administration, security forces, and the people of Ladakh for their collective effort in maintaining peace and harmony after the recent violent clashes.
He said the people of Ladakh have shown immense patience and unity following the recent violence. Their cooperation and coordination have been instrumental in restoring normal life across the region, he said.
He further stated that, “The restoration of normal life is a clear reflection of the people’s faith in the administration’s commitment to ensuring safety, stability, and inclusive growth.”
Gupta said “The people of Ladakh are among the most patriotic citizens of the nation, who have always stood shoulder to shoulder with the rest of the country in safeguarding national interests.”
He urged the people of Ladakh to continue contributing to the region’s overall progress and stability, while assuring the administration’s commitment to ensuring equitable growth across all sectors, education, health, infrastructure, and employment, with a special focus on youth empowerment and sustainable tourism.
Gupta also reiterated that his administration is fully committed to addressing public concerns and ensuring that all measures are people-centric and transparent.
Further, Gupta urged citizens to remain vigilant, continue supporting law and order, and actively participate in the development initiatives being undertaken by the administration.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Pawan Kotwal, Director General of Police SD Singh Jamwal, DIG CRPF PR Jambolkar, Deputy Commissioner Leh, Senior Superintendent of Police Leh, CO 79, Sanjay Kumar and other senior officials.
