Ladakh Police is providing free daily training to as many as 150–200 aspirants preparing for sub-inspector and constable recruitment examinations under a special orientation programme, Director General of Police Mukesh Singh said on Wednesday.
DGP Singh said Ladakh Police will soon begin recruitment for sub-inspector and constable posts, for which vacancies have already been announced. He added that orientation programmes were being organised in Leh and Kargil, where nearly 150 to 200 candidates have been receiving training every day. Aspirants are being guided about the type of questions expected in the written examination. He said the initiative was started to support youth and is being conducted free of cost.
Thousands of young candidates have registered for the Ladakh Police Orientation Programme being held at the Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium, showing strong enthusiasm among local youth for joining the police force.
Last month, Ladakh Police had announced a major recruitment drive for the posts of sub-inspectors and constables as well as the launch of the orientation programme to help aspirants prepare in advance.
The Ladakh Police will soon start the recruitment process for sub-inspectors and constables in the Union Territory. An official notification will be issued shortly. According to a press release, the recruitment process will include a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), followed by a written examination for candidates who qualify the physical test, and police verification for those who successfully clear all stages in accordance with the prescribed rules.
The orientation programmes will be organised in both districts of the Union Territory—Leh and Kargil—to familiarise candidates with the recruitment process. These sessions will include practice for the Physical Efficiency Test as well as guidance for the written examination.
The orientation programme aims to help aspirants clearly understand recruitment standards, procedures and requirements, so that they can prepare effectively. Ladakh Police has advised all interested candidates to make full use of the free training sessions to improve their readiness for the upcoming tests.
