The Managing Director of AR Dairy Food Private Ltd, R. Rajasekharan, has filed a petition for anticipatory bail with the Andhra Pradesh High Court in connection with a case alleging that the company supplied adulterated ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), which is used in making the famous Tirupati laddus.
The petition was filed on September 30, and the hearing is expected on October 3.
The controversy arose after TTD lodged a complaint on September 25, accusing AR Dairy Foods of adulterating the ghee with animal fat, including lard.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was assigned to investigate the matter, but their probe was paused following remarks from the Supreme Court.
Lab tests commissioned by TTD allegedly found traces of animal fat in samples, though AR Dairy has refuted these claims, maintaining that its products had passed quality checks.
Rajasekharan is seeking a direction from the court to prevent his arrest until the disposal of the current criminal petition.
