Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma inaugurated the 8th edition of the Northeast Mini Jamboree of Bharat Scouts and Guides at the Mizoram State Training Centre, Tanhril, on Saturday.
The event brought together approximately 300 participants from various parts of the country, underscoring the spirit of unity and mutual understanding.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Chief Minister Lalduhoma, who also serves as the President of Mizoram Bharat Scouts and Guides, expressed his belief that such events foster national integration.
“Unity and mutual understanding can be achieved, despite cultural and language differences, for the betterment of the nation,” he stated.
He encouraged attendees to embody the values of happiness and service to others, which lie at the heart of the Scouts and Guides movement.
The Chief National Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Dr KK Khandelwal, lauded the dedicated efforts of the Mizoram branch in promoting the movement.
In recognition of these contributions, he announced that the Chief Minister would soon receive the prestigious Silver Elephant Award, the highest honour bestowed by the organisation.
The Mini Jamboree, which runs until November 28, features a variety of activities and programmes aimed at fostering leadership, teamwork, and community service among participants.
The event celebrates the commitment of Bharat Scouts and Guides to nurturing young minds while bridging cultural differences. It also highlights Mizoram’s pivotal role in advancing the movement within the region.
