A Delhi court granted bail on Monday to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, along with his sons Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav, in connection with the land-for-jobs money laundering case.
Special Judge Vishal Gogne approved bail on personal bonds of Rs 100,000 each, noting that the accused were not arrested during the investigation. The trio appeared before the court following summons issued earlier.
The summons followed the court's cognisance of a supplementary charge sheet filed against them. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) submitted its final report on the case on 6 August.
The investigation stems from an FIR lodged by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and pertains to Group-D appointments made in the West Central Zone of Railways, based in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, during Prasad's tenure as railway minister from 2004 to 2009.
The ED alleged that these appointments were made in exchange for land parcels gifted or transferred to Prasad's family or associates by the recruits.
