A shocking incident was reported from Tarn Taran district in Punjab on Monday, where a first-year law college student reportedly shot dead a fellow student inside a classroom and later turned the gun on himself, police said.
The accused, Prince Raj, opened fire on Sandeep Kaur, killing her on the spot. He then shot himself using the same pistol, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagbir Singh.
Police said the motive behind the killing is not yet known, and investigations are underway to establish the circumstances that led to the incident. Both the victim and the accused were first-year students at a law college in Usma village of Tarn Taran, officials confirmed.
According to police, the class had not yet started when Raj entered the classroom and fired at Kaur, hitting her in the head. He then shot himself inside the same classroom.
While Sandeep Kaur died on the spot, Raj was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, the officer said.
