JK People’s Conference chief and MLA Sajad Gani Lone on Thursday said LG’s address was a “love letter” from the National Conference (NC) to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the Jammu and Kashmir assembly.
During the discussions on the motion of thanks on the LG’s address, Lone stated that the LG’s address appears to be a love letter from the ruling national conference to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
“You have sent many love letters to the BJP, and this one is from the Assembly,” Lone said.
Reading out from NC’s manifesto, Lone fiercely criticised the ruling party for not mentioning Article 370, Article 35A, the Public Safety Act, release of political prisoners and termination of employees in the LG’s address.
Lone was quoted saying, “He (LG) should have been a medley of aspirations and grievances, but the aspiration part is missing,” he said.
Lone further remarked that LG’s address is a “blatant betrayal” of the people of J&K and a move to normalise the changes made on August 5, 2019.

He said there was no mention or acknowledgement of the “pain and miseries” endured by the people of Jammu and Kashmir since 2019, which is also missing from his address.
Lone slammed the BJP over remarks made by its leader Sunil Sharma on the Martyrs of July 13, 1931, stating that “Nobody has rights to disrespect what is sacred to Kashmiris, whether that happens to be a leader from the ruling dispensation or opposition,” he said.
Meanwhile, PDP has also demanded an apology from the BJP over the remarks made by its leader during the ongoing budget session taking place after nearly a gap of seven years.
