On Friday, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his appreciation for the significant contributions of the J&K Police during a passing-out parade held at the Police Training School (PTS) in Manigam, Ganderbal.
The event marked the completion of the 16th batch of the Basic Recruit Training Course (BRTC), with 438 recruits, including 86 women, successfully finishing their intense training. Among them were 211 constables who had previously served as Special Police Officers (SPOs).
While addressing the new batch of recruits, Lt. Governor Sinha praised the bravery and commitment of the J&K Police force, emphasising their unwavering dedication to maintaining peace and security across the region. He honoured their sacrifices, which, he noted, played a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the citizens.

“The nation is grateful to the J&K Police for the invaluable sacrifices they have made,” Sinha remarked. “Citizens can live peacefully and work freely because they know our police force stands firm in protecting lives and combating terrorism and crime.”
The Lieutenant Governor further spoke about the progress made by the J&K Police, alongside the Army and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), in their ongoing efforts to counter terrorism in the Kashmir Valley.
While acknowledging their success, he also raised concerns about the rise in terrorist activities in the Jammu division, which continues to pose a challenge. He reiterated the government’s commitment to making both the Jammu and Kashmir divisions terrorism-free.
