Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid tribute to Army bravehearts Lance Havildar Palash Ghosh and Lance Naik Sujay Ghosh, who laid down their lives for the nation.
Lance Havildar Palash Ghosh and Lance Naik Sujay Ghosh made the supreme sacrifice while conducting counterinsurgency operations in the Kishtwar Range of Kokernag, battling extreme weather conditions.
LG Sinha said, “I salute the supreme sacrifice of our Army bravehearts, Lance Havildar Palash Ghosh and Lance Naik Sujay Ghosh. The nation shall remain forever grateful for their exemplary valor and selfless service of our soldiers. We stand in solidarity with the families of our martyrs in this hour of grief.”
Meanwhile, the valley-based Army’s Chinar Corps paid tribute to the two soldiers who were killed during an anti-terror operation in the Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar Range of Kokernag, while battling extreme weather conditions.
In a post on X on Friday, Chinar Corps wrote, “Chinar Corps honours the supreme sacrifice of bravehearts Lance Havildar Palash Ghosh and Lance Naik Sujay Ghosh while conducting relentless counter-terror operations in the Kishtwar Range of Kokernag, battling extreme weather conditions.”
The Chinar Corps expressed solidarity with the affected families.
Earlier, on the intervening night of October 6, the two soldiers went missing during a search operation in the upper areas of the Kokernag forest. According to reports the forces had confronted a severe snowstorm and whiteout conditions in the mountains of South Kashmir.
